I just recently got Adobe After Effects CS5 and for my first test, I imported a JPEG image and added an effect to it. I am done, and now I don’t know how to export it back out as a JPEG. Help?

This is in CS4, but it should be similar if not the same…

(top menu) Composition -> Save Frame As -> File…

Oh, and if you added like a video effect, then Composition -> Make Movie (right under Save Frame As)… you could also press Ctrl+M

I need to download the trial version for after effects cs4 but only cs5 is available right now. If I download cs5 will I also get cs4? Are there any other ways I can get cs4? Thanks for any help.

No. You can try looking for it on the Adobe website or you can either torrent CS4.

You don’t install anything into After Effects for Action Essentials. Action Essentials is a collection of video and audio footage. You import these items. See this for an overview of importing footage:
