Q&A: Photoshop logo/web page header help?

Question by DavidC: Photoshop logo/web page header help?
I’m trying to make a logo/web page header for a project I’m working on. I found a tutorial -> http://psdtuts.com/text-effects-tutorials/how-to-create-a-gold-text-effect-in-photoshop/
but, no matter how much I slave over it the ending outcome looks nothing like the finished picture in the website. First when I do the dark brown background it looks nothing like the background shown. My background looks much lighter and I’m using the same color, I followed the instructions to the dot. Second, the text shown in the tutorial are very close together if you notice them but, when I use Times New Roman as mentioned the letters do not come together for that nice look either. Third, when I do the gradient overlay I have no idea what color the tutorial uses or how to position the tabs correctly. Am I just to much of an amateur to make it look like it does in the tutorial or is there any website that focuses on Photoshop tutorials so I have a better understanding of what I’m doing wrong?

If they are smooth, then you could try erasing a bit and redrawing it with the same colour. Or maybe try another distortion filter.

I don’t really know if this will work though, I haven’t tried it myself.

Try to find the installation file. It should be an executable (.exe) exstension like “install.exe”. That should work.

how do i make an html document that i created with photoshop into a header for my website?

Question by <3: how do i make an html document that i created with photoshop into a header for my website?
I opened an image in adobe photoshop, added text, and then used the slice tool to make the different words into links. when i saved it, it saved as an html and picture combo. i want to add this picture with links as the header to my website. i tried to add the pictures separately as the header, but it doesn’t work. the html document it gave me is beautiful and works perfectly though. i can view the source of the html it gives me and then copy and paste the code into my site where i want it to go, but i feel like that isn’t at all the right way to do it. what is the right way?

i hope this makes sense. i obviously am new at this :)

There is no right way, but the way you have already thought of (“view the source of the html … and then copy and paste the code into [your] site where [you] want it to go”) is probably the simplest.
